Child Protection Project
The Child Protection Project, funded by the Austria Afghan Society (OEAFG), is a 12-month initiative running from May 2025 to April 2026 with a total budget of €21,000. The project targets 50 vulnerable children in Herat Province who have been affected by war, natural disasters, and displacement.
The project’s main goal is to enhance the survival, health, and overall well-being of at-risk children by addressing their critical healthcare needs and ensuring access to essential medical and protection services. It focuses on providing medical assistance and covering hospitalization costs for children requiring urgent treatment, while also strengthening referral systems to ensure that beneficiaries receive comprehensive and continuous care.
In addition to healthcare support, the project emphasizes improving coordination among service providers and integrating protection measures that contribute to the long-term resilience of affected children and their families. By facilitating access to life-saving medical services and promoting recovery, the Child Protection Project aims to restore hope, stability, and dignity to the lives of children impacted by conflict and disasters in Herat.
