Sharif’s Path to Stability
Restoring Stability Through Emergency Cash Support.
Sharif is a 48-year-old returnee living in Rabat Sangi District with his family of seven. Five months after returning from Iran, he continues to struggle to rebuild his life with no stable income and no support upon arrival. As the sole provider for his family, Sharif faces daily uncertainty about how to meet even the most basic needs. His situation is made more painful by the fact that his eight-year-old daughter requires medical surgery, a concern that weighs heavily on him as a father. With no job and limited options, the family has been living in very difficult conditions. Through ODPA’s cash assistance program, Sharif received 6,762 AFN, which brought much-needed relief at a critical moment. The assistance allowed him to purchase essential winter items and provide basic care for his family, easing some of the immediate pressure he faced. Sharif shared that this support gave him a sense of hope during a very challenging time, and he expressed his deep gratitude to the Organization for Development Program of Afghanistan for standing by his family when they felt most vulnerable.
