Earthquake Emergency Response – Kunar, Afghanistan

The Earthquake Emergency Response Project, funded by Caritas Österreich, is a three-month humanitarian initiative running from August to October 2025, with a total budget of €20,000. Implemented by the Organization for Development Programs of Afghanistan (ODPA), the project aims to provide immediate and life-saving assistance to 185 vulnerable households affected by the recent earthquake in Kunar Province.

Using a community-based and transparent approach, the project ensures fair and efficient delivery of cash assistance to the most affected families. Each household will receive €70, enabling them to address their most urgent needs, including food, temporary shelter, clothing, and healthcare.

This intervention not only meets emergency needs but also contributes to restoring dignity, improving living conditions, and strengthening resilience among disaster-affected families. With the dedicated support of Caritas Österreich, ODPA reaffirms its commitment to standing beside crisis-affected communities across Afghanistan, delivering timely and effective humanitarian assistance to those who need it most.
